El Paso – El Paso police have identified the man who died when his car hit a stop sign on Monday afternoon.

Oswaldo Wong, 52, was driving on Route 1100 from Lomaland Road, east of the city at 3:39 PM, when, for some unknown reason, he was still stamping his car, the 2010 Taurus.

Wong suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, becoming the Road No. 22 victim so far this year.

The man’s death surprised his family, who were asking the community to support them to cover the funeral expenses.

With a GoFundMe account, his son Antonio Wong makes an appeal to the economic situation they are in that, he says, is not enough to pay for the coffin and cemetery /

“With a heavy and desolate heart, I announce the death of my dear father, Oswaldo Wong, yesterday noon,” says Antonio.

“Any help, no matter how small, will certainly be greatly appreciated. Thank you and may God bless you,” he adds.

As of Tuesday afternoon, $ 3,510 out of 5,000 goals had been collected. Whoever wishes to support can do so at the web: https://bit.ly/3eRNuit
