The United States abandoned the 2015 nuclear deal (also known as the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan – also known as the JCPOA) and is expected to take the first step towards returning to the agreement.“Mr. Sharif explained during an event in the capital, Tehran.

They must first resolve the issue, and then Iran will implement its commitment to the agreement, as Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has indicated.

After Washington withdrew from the JCPOA in 2018 and re-imposed sanctions on Iran, Tehran gradually ceased to implement some of its obligations under the agreement.
