The head of Russian national football coach team Stanislav Cherchesov has resigned.
The decision was made by mutual agreement between the Russian Football Union (RFS) and the head coach.
The reason for the resignation of the Russian head coach was the poor performance of the Russian national team in the European Championship. The Russian national team finished fourth in Group B of Euro 2020 with 3 points and failed to reach the quarterfinals. Although the Russians beat Finland (1: 0), they lost to Belgium (0: 3) and Denmark (1: 4) and finished last in the group.
It should be noted that Italy and England will face each other in the final match of the European Championship on July 11. The match at Wembley Stadium will start at 23:00 Baku time.
