Tokyo Olympics is going to start from July 23, amid the Pandemic. While the restrictions are made to watch the games from stands, a new twist has introduced into the guidelines of medal ceremonies.
The changes have made in Olympic rituals where the medallists will not be honoured by the dignitaries while the medallist is standing on the podium, but the medallist will have to take the medal from the tray and hang around neck to themselves. Thomas Bach, President of International Olympics Committee (IOC) confirmed this on Wednesday. There will not be any hug or handshakes with dignitaries in the ceremony.
Olympics craze is growing among the fans as the games are about to start, but the Covid cases are also rising rapidly in July month. Covid Cases reported in July month, in Tokyo are most in nearly 6 months.
Japan govt is highly cautious about the games as there is fear in public that infection will be triggered due to gatherings in Tokyo.
