According to cyber security firm about 200 US Businesses are under ransom ware cyber-attack. According to Huntress Labs the hackers targeted Florida based IT company named Kaseya before getting into their software’s to attack the corporate networks. Kaseya made a statement on their own website that they were investigating a “potential attack”. The US Cyber security and Infrastructure Agency made a statement that it is taking action to address the attack. On Friday afternoon when companies across US were clocking off for Independence Day weekend, the hackers made a cyber-breach into their software’s. According to Kaseya one of its application which runs corporate servers, desktop computers and network computers might be compromised. To diagnose this issue Kaseya urged their customers to use their VSA tools to shut down their servers. Kaseya website have their connections in over 10 countries and the customers count is around 10,000. Huntress Labs believes that Russia linked REvil ransom ware gang is responsible behind this attack. REvil is also known as Sodinokibi and is one of the devastating cyber-criminal groups in the world. This gang was blamed in May by FBI for paralyzing operations of JBS which is the world’s largest meat supplier company.
