Bangalore/ Mumbai: Ola Electric has started booking for its electric scooter, indicating that it is at a launch corner.
“From today, customers can reserve their Ola scooter by refunding rupees 499 on olaelectric.com. Those who have reserved now will receive a priority delivery,” it said in a statement on Thursday.
The company hopes to reveal the features and price of the two-wheeler soon.
“India’s EV revolution begins today with the opening of reservations for our electric scooter, the first in a series of upcoming Evs. Along with aggressive pricing, incredible performance, technology and design will help accelerate the transition to sustainability, ”said Bhavish Agarwal, Ola Chairman and Group Chief Executive.
Bank of Baroda has signed a $ 100 million, 10-year debt financing agreement to finance the first phase of an electric two-wheeler factory in Tamil Nadu. The deal is the largest long-term debt financing deal in the Indian electric vehicle industry, according to Ride Hailing.The factory is being built on 500 acres of land in Krishnagiri.
Ola said last year that it would invest Rs 2,400 crore in the first phase of the factory.It intends to export the bikes to Europe and Australia.It also plans to provide charging solutions to all electric two-wheeler customers through the Ola Hypercharger network.Ola is expected to build 5,000 charging points in 100 cities.
Earlier this month, Agarwal said he had updated Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on the progress of the factory.
