A 435.5km, Lhasa-Nyingchi bullet train section is being launched by China, Close to Arunachal Pradesh, near India-China border. This project will reduce the time from 48 hours to 13 hours, in the journey from Chengdu to Lhasa. Section was inaugurated on 1st July, in centenary celebration of ruling Communist Party of China (CPC). Lhasa is Provincial Capital and Nyingchi is Strategically situated on Tibetan border, near Arunachal Pradesh. The news was confirmed by PTI report on Friday. Situan-Tibet railway will be second railway after Qinghai-Tibet railway in Tibet. China’s President Xi Jinping said that this fully electrified railway line will help in safeguard the Indian-China border. This is well known debate that China claims, Arunachal Pradesh is a part of Tibet and India rejects this firmly. The length of disputed borders, shared by the countries is 3,488 Kms. This project for China is supposed to be a great convenience in the time of Ind-China border crisis, to deliver the strategic materials.
