Brition Emma Raducanu got her quite start to her professional tennis career as the 18-year-old champion who reached at Wimbledon’s fourth round on 3rd July 2021 Saturday. Emma entered the tournament with a wild card entry. As yet she is having to drop a set on her grand slam debut as she saw off Sarona Cristea with 6-3 and 7-3 on Wimbledon’s No.1 court.
Emma Raducanu is the youngest British women to reach the fourth round of Wimbledon in Open era, Wimbledon website appreciated her with greetings as many were in support with Emma who was born in Canada, this was biggest court for her as she played till now.
In the tournament Emma was down at starting, but she just tried to hold her nerve. This really got her through the tournament. World no.338 Emma extended her run towards Wimbledon must also have been surprising for her parents.
Despite of making her tour debut in June, Emma has already earned nearly $40,000 in career prize money. US star James Blake tweeted on Emma’s performance in tournament, when Emma beat Marketa Vondrousova in the second round. Emma is still having best hopes for her next round where she will now face unseeded Australian Ajla Tomljanovic on 5th July 2021.
