Elon Musk’s SpaceX is looking to provide first-ever internet service through its Starlink satellite network. This new company, which had previously announced plans for a Hong Kong launch with 5G data coverage next year and has been providing broadband in Sutherland Springs Texas since 2017, will start operations by applying early 2019 for an Indian Commercial Satellite Authorisation License (CSAL). The head of the country said that this newest venture would sign up clients across India who are interested not only in mobile voice but also high-speed wireless connections like 4K video streaming on phones or laptops as well!

Sanjay Bhargava, Starlink Country Director for India at SpaceX said that his team is hopeful of getting their commercial license by January 31st, 2022 unless they hit some major roadblocks.

If the company can roll out its services by April, it aims to have 20000 Starlink devices in India by December 2022. Though the project was previously said that only 80 percent of these will be used for rural areas and cities respectively according to Bhargava’s presentation posted online recently on a blog site.

Small satellites equipped with the ability to provide broadband internet services are becoming more popular than ever before. These low-Earth orbit networks offer cheaper and faster access where previous technologies were not able, allowing people on Earth both near or far from major cities alike an opportunity for better ways of communication that doesn’t rely solely upon physical proximity all day long!
