Islamabad, August 12, 2025 — President Asif Ali Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding ties with Morocco, describing the relationship as one rooted in shared faith, values, and mutual respect.

Speaking at Aiwan-e-Sadr during a meeting with Moroccan Ambassador Mohamed Karmoune, President Zardari emphasized the need to further expand bilateral cooperation across various sectors for the benefit of both nations.

He expressed gratitude for Morocco’s timely support during Pakistan’s 2022 floods, calling it a testament to the depth of friendship between the two countries.

Highlighting economic collaboration, the President said Pakistan attaches great importance to its trade and investment relations with Morocco. He noted the vast potential for growth, pointing out that Africa is set for significant economic expansion in the coming years. Morocco, with its impressive development record, he added, is well-positioned to play a leading role in driving regional prosperity.

Reiterating the “close and brotherly” nature of ties between the two nations, President Zardari conveyed his best wishes for the health of King Mohammed VI. He also requested Ambassador Karmoune to deliver the goodwill and warm regards of the Pakistani people to the King and the people of Morocco.
